Somebody asked me the other day how long I’ve been writing my blog and I was shocked to tell them that I was approaching 4 years! Time sure does fly! However, I still enjoy maintaining the blog as much as I did the first post and looking back, they sure started to add up. I started to find that it was a bit difficult to locate recipes and other hidden information, so why not make it easier for all.

Here is a list of all the recipes I’ve blogged about so far and I’ll remind myself to update it once I add another healthy recipe to the site! Thank you everyone for their continued support and I hope you all enjoy the recipes!

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and although most find it to be a cheesy Hallmark holiday. I still enjoy celebrating it! Being Chinese and growing up eating white rice my whole life, I really can’t imagine not eating it…ever. Rice is my automatic go to side and it goes with pretty much everything. Nothing is faster than pouring the washed rice in to a rice cooker and getting perfectly cooked rice in less than 20 minutes. It’s something that has almost become automatic at my house after a long day at work, walk through door, rice in cooker, it’s almost synonymous. It seems rice has gotten a bad rap lately with all the diets that are banishing white rice. I agree that brown rice has more fiber since the bran is still intact. Another blink of the eye and somehow, we are in fall, the leaves have changed colors and the air is crisper. As with all years, I’m not ready, but one thing that gets me through the transition of summer to winter has always been the delicious flavours of fall. There is something special about baked apples and spice in the air that makes me want to get cozy and turn on the fireplace. With the fall season, there is always talks of Thanksgiving dinner on the horizon, especially here in Canada where we celebrate Thanksgiving in October (opposed to November in the USA). I have always been extremely curious about using an air fryer to cook the chicken, this would provide a different texture to the oven cooked turkey and a great addition to any meal. Perogies Made Healthy

Now that the stampede is over, it’s time to eat healthier again. No more deep fried foods, well for a little while anyhow. However, that doesn’t mean I still don’t want to eat delicious comfort food. Especially since we’ve moved and now live much closer to Edelweiss Village. I find we’re always there grabbing some perogies as a quick snack. Who doesn’t love the doughy chewy goodness of perogies? But they’re not exacting the best thing to be eating all the time. So I set out to find a healthier alternative. When I made these perogies with greek yogurt, my husband didn’t even notice that they didn’t contain any cheese. I found that amazing, since perogies rely quite heavily on the cheddar cheese to provide the smooth creaminess of the filling within. Plus, using the yogurt allowed me to up the amount of protein in the perogies and lower the amount of fat. When we wake up on the weekends, the first thing we do is run to the kitchen, open up the fridge and figure out what’s for breakfast. Seldom do we make it out of the house before at least having a snack. As you can imagine, any sort of a wait list or line up would deter us merely because it would lengthen the amount of time between us and the food, especially that early in the morning. Essentially it’s an ‘I want food and I want it now’ type of situation. So how shocked was I, when my husband proposed that we should go have brunch at OEB one weekend.
